MBP is delighted to announce that exciting young racer, Jayden Kelly, is set to contest his second season of the McLaren Trophy Europe as he joins forces with the reputable Greystone GT team alongside Michael O’Brien for a Pro category title challenge.
Jayden has wasted little time in making an impression in his relatively short racing career so far and the 2024 season saw him taking to the track for a maiden car racing campaign that heralded some fantastic achievements for the young Australian.
Jayden’s debut McLaren Trophy Euope campaign saw him impress right from the outset, securing Driver of the Day at Misano in what was his first competitive race. This would quickly be followed up by a mighty performance at Spa-Francorchamps, where he clinched his first-ever pole position and race victory. Jayden would then add to his podium tally at the Nürburgring and as a result, he would finish the season third in the overall standings.
Now, Jayden is looking to build on his impressive rookie season and he is delighted to be joining forces with the two-time McLaren Trophy Europe Champions, Greystone GT, as he looks to take the Pro category head-on in 2025. Jayden will be joined behind the wheel of the all-new McLaren Artura Trophy EVO by fellow Silver-graded driver, Michael O’Brien in a driving pairing that promises plenty of on-track success.
Jayden’s season will get underway at Brands Hatch, as the UK circuit makes its championship debut, on 3/4 May 2025. The calendar will then visit some of Europe’s most iconic tracks, with a feature alongside the Crowdstrike 24 Hours of Spa in June being a particular highlight.
Looking forward to what looks to be an exciting 2025, Jayden is raring to get going:
“I cannot wait to get behind the wheel with the fantastic team at Greystone GT as we start our Pro category campaign in 2025. Last season was an incredible experience, with memories I’ll have for a lifetime, especially my maiden race victory. Now I’m ready to chase down the title in the Pro category. Driving alongside Michael and with the winning expertise of the Greystone GT team behind me, I’ll be giving it everything I have out on track. A massive thank you to the whole team, I can’t wait to get going!”
Mark McLoughlin, Team Owner of Greystone GT, is delighted to welcome Jayden to the team ahead of the 2025 campaign:
“We’re excited to add Jayden and Michael to our McLaren Trophy Europe line-up for 2025 as we aim to make it titles in three successive seasons. Michael’s talent and experience make him a perfect fit for Greystone GT while Jayden has proven his speed with a very impressive race-winning rookie campaign and I think together we have everything we need to fight for wins on a regular basis. Having an all-Pro lineup will help support and drive performance for our Pro-Am crews. This is of huge importance to the team as we aim for success in every category. It’s set to be a very exciting season.”
Echoing these thoughts, MBP’s Motorsport Advisor, Gary Paffett is looking forward to seeing the combination out on track:
“It is great to see Jayden joining forces with Greystone GT on what looks set to be an exciting 2025 campaign. Last season saw Jayden put in an impressive performance as a rookie, and he more than demonstrated his ability behind the wheel. Now, taking the well-deserved step up to the Pro category will herald a new challenge, but with the backing of the Greystone GT team and his determination and ability, I’m sure Jayden will rise to the challenge once again in 2025.”
